Hello everyone,

Thanks once again for stopping by, hope you enjoy the topic for today and this topic isn’t just for naturalistas but for relaxed hair as well. Well before I begin, I would like to let you guys know that for about a month now I have been trying to lose some weight and though it is tough, I have been able to lose 5kg and almost 3 inches around my waist. That is from 63kg to 58kg overall and 33inches to 30 inches around my waist. This is all to the glory of God. If you would like to know exactly how I did it please email me but anyway I will add a post on how I have done it so far. Still going on!!! Lol

Yes black hair can grow as long as you want.

Well I will be talking about Diet and Exercise today: this has really helped my hair to grow very fast because as the saying goes we are what we eat, I believe what we eat and drink make or break us.

Attaining a healthy and long hair I believe starts from within. After going natural, I decided to change the way I eat to a more healthy choice other than fast foods and refined foods and this has helped my hair and skin to flourish permanently. I look into the mirror and I say to myself wow! Though I eat healthy, I also take multivitamin for the effects on the skin, hair, bones etc.

My diet include dried fruits, homemade Stir fry (rice), pasta with vegetables mixed, homemade lasagne, roast potatoes and chicken with vegetables (roast diner), more and more salads and raw fruits. Beans part of the legume family also promotes hair growth as it contains more protein, iron, zinc and biotin.

Exercise helps to reduce stress and promote hair growth by improving blood circulation in the scalp. It also slows down the aging process. In my weekly routine, I try as much as possible to exercise three times and this includes using the tread mill and tummy exercises. What I believe is that with the little edge you have, you can excel in everything. “It is not the will to win but the will to prepare to win that counts” Brian Tracy.

So these are the stuff I do to achieve great hair growth, flourish skin and overall fitness.

Hope this really helped, email me at if you have any question regarding your hair or you need encouragement in losing weight.

Have a blessed day, thanks again for stopping by I appreciate you.

Apple Cider Vinegar for Flu?

Hi everyone,

Hope you are all doing great. OK so I had some serious flu for about 2 weeks and I decided to research on a natural remedy. I came across Apple Cider Vinegar, Yes our own apple cider for washing the hair.

I was fortunate enough to have an organic one in my cupboard. So I followed the recipe for sore throat and flu and immediately I gurgled some, the sore throat subsided. With the flu, it didn't do much because apparently, one has to take it immediately you see symptoms of the flu.

So why does it work for so many illnesses? The long and short of it is because it balances the PH in our body. It's a very good product to have in your cupboard because not only does it remove product build-up from your scalp but also treats so many sicknesses.

Hair Style of the Week

I pulled the sides of the hair with a clip
Hi Lovely Chicas,

Hope you are all doing great. Well the cold weather is here again and taking care of our hairs is very important. I now deep condition my hair every week because of the weather. This has helped my hair to retain its length a lot and happy about it.
I just wanted you all to check out the hair style I did last Sunday for church. Being very confused of how I wanted my Fro Hawk, I ended up using hair clips instead of side braids.

Thanks for stopping by ladies.

Saving Your Hair This Winter

About to drop my son at school.
Hey Gals,

Thanks for stopping by, hope you all are doing great.
Today I am talking about how I am saving my hair this season. The weather is very chilly now and if care is not taken, our hairs can become dry and brittle.

Each morning when I wake up, I wet my hair, massage into my hair my oil mix and seal the moisture in with my sheabutter. Sheabutter has really helped my skin and hair such that they feel moisturised every time.

After sealing in the moisture, I cover my hair with a plastic cap and scarf it for how many minutes or hours I want. Since I have to go out because of my son's school, I have knitted myself some hats to save my hair when I am out.
I believe if  you have relaxed hair, massaging in your hair natural oils and whipped sheabutter will strengthen your strands. You can get yourself a hat to save your hair from the wind and the clod weather which breaks our hair.
Before I retire to bed, I wet my hair again and massage in some oil and sheabutter.
I have realised my hair doesn't dry out like before and I am loving it.

FYI: My online store will be launched in a few weeks, we have in store unrefined sheabutter, african black soap, whipped sheabutter;raw & infused with natural oils, hair accessories, lip balms, handmade soaps and many more. So please watch out for it.

Have a blessed day and remember to give your hair some TLC.

How To Achieve a Smooth & Supple Face

FYI, I have changed the name of my blog to due to the soon to be launched Online Store. If you still use, it will still bring you here as it has been linked. Thanks

Hi Gals,

Hope you are all well, I am fine just busy with kids, studies and business as usual.

Well, I have good news for you if you want to achieve a smooth face or skin.

For your information, I don't use make-ups. Lol. Not that I don't like them but I just want to go natural but who knows, maybe one day I will find a natural make-up and use it.

This recipe is very simple but very effective.

All you need is Natural Yogurt from any supermarket. Natural Yogurt has a gentle cleansing property such that it smoothes your skin.

Pour just a little in a small bowl and apply to your face and neck.

Keep it on for 15mins and rinse off your face and neck.

You will come back and tell me I wasn't kidding.

Alternatively, you can add honey to the Natural Yogurt since Honey is a great ingredient for beautiful skin.

Check the above photo and tell me my face isn't smooth. Lol

I believe looking beautiful can be achieved by using our normal natural products as compared to the synthetic products we have been using for years. These chemicals only bring us diseases in the long run.

Have a fruitful day y'all

Love you to bits

9 Months of Going Natural

Hey Gals,
This is not stretched hair.

Hope you are all doing great. I have decided to show you pictures of my hair length and I am so exciting about this. My Hair is growing!
My hair is so curly it experiences lots of shrinkage, so I try to keep it straight all the time. It's just over 4 inches because I trimmed two weekends ago. I never thought my hair could grow this long within 9 months. So why wasn't my relaxed hair growing past my shoulders for 10 years of relaxing.Lol

Hope you guys enjoyed it, thanks for stopping by.

Detangling My Hair With Aloe Vera Juice

This is how I protect my hair from the wind & cold weather.
Hi Gals,

Hope you all doing great by God’s grace. Sorry you are not reading from me frequently, it is because school has re-opened and the assignments keep

You know what, I detangled my hair very well for the first time last weekend and I will give you the recipe shortly.

I get this from
On Saturday morning, I was still thinking about what I could do to detangle hair without losing much hair. I remembered aloe vera juice detangles my hair very well when I am braiding so I decide to give it a go. The reason why aloe vera juice can detangle my hair is because of its PH. It is acidic so when I add it to water (PH of 7), brings the PH down to between 4.5-5.5 depending on the proportions and this detangles my hair.

I didn’t measure because I was trying it out, so I poured some aloe vera juice in my mixed oils for hot oil treatment.

Then I massaged the whole mixture into my scalp and hair and covered it with a plastic cap. This was left in for about an hour. I took off the cap and detangled my hair in sections.  In fact the result was amazing; my hair was detangled with less than 20 hairs shedding. It is normal for hair to shed 70 to 100 hairs a day, so this means I retained my length.

The only downturn was when I used my Too Shea Conditioner. This Conditioner as I said in my previous post curls my hair such that it can tangle my hair easily.

At long last, I have found a recipe that detangles my hair easily and I am so happy about it. You can also give it a try and give me a feedback on it.

Hope this helped, thanks for stopping by.

Have a blessed day.

Love you all

Natural Yogurt for Conditioning Hair?

Hey Ladies,

Yes indeed, you can condition your hair with natural yogurt.
Hope you all doing well. I promised you yesterday that I will be posting the homemade recipe I conditioned my hair with. I will be using this conditioner for a month to see the effect on my hair. This conditioner can be used for relaxed and natural hair types.

Well it’s very simple.

A day after conditioning
1 pot of Natural Yogurt (From any supermarket)

1 tsp Lemon Juice

1 Egg Yolk

Rosemary and Peppermint Essential Oil (Optional)

*Pour 60g of natural yogurt into a small container. The yogurt not only forms the creamy base but also cleanses gently and its anti-bacterial properties will help remove every grime and dirt from the hair.

*Add the egg yolk to the yogurt by separating the egg white from the egg yolk. The egg yolk is a deep-penetrating moisturizer that adds strength and elasticity to the hair so that the new growth will not break easily. It also contains biotin which is good for hair growth. The egg yolk also makes the hair silky smooth.

*Add 1 tsp of lemon juice to the mixture. The lemon is a natural astringent and will help to remove product build-up from the hair. Lemon has the same PH of the hair’s natural oils thus protects the hair by sealing the hair cuticles and this prevents split ends.

*Mix 5 drops of rosemary oil and 5 drops of peppermint oil to the mixture and stir. These oils have a cool refreshing effect and they help stimulate the blood circulation in the scalp thereby encouraging hair growth.

*Apply to wet hair and gently massage the scalp and cover with a plastic cap. Leave it on for about 5mins or for about 30mins for deep conditioning.

*Rinse from hair, dry hair and style as usual.

Hope this was helpful
Have a blessed day y'all

Conditioning My Hair to Maintain my Growth

Hey Gals,

Welcome to my blog, it's always been a privilege sharing my hair experience with you all. I just love talking about hair and how to achieve maximum growth.
I have been conditioning my hair without parting it for about 9 months now and recently I went on youtube to watch other naturalistas. It was the ideal time because I  had put in braids.
What I realised was that every single person I watched, parted their hair even if the hair is short.
So I am taking out my braids today, then I will pre-shampoo my hair, cleanse my hair with Apple Cider Vinegar and continue to condition my hair with my new conditioner; Jessicurl Too Shea Extra Moisturizing Conditioner. I am definitely going to part my hair.
The thing is if you don't part your hair, the tendency of the hair tangling more is great and since I want to achieve maximum growth, I have to part my hair from now on.
Will keep y'all updated especially with my new
I am waiting for my tripod to be delivered so I can make more videos when I condition or deep condition my hair.

My Knitting Experience

Hello everyone,

Hope you all doing well, I am very good and very excited about my new hobby. I started crotcheting since I was about 9 years old but left it and recently picked it up again. So upon picking it up, i decided to learn how to knit in addition to the crotcheting.

About a month ago, I decided to try my hands on knitting a hat and scarf for my eldest son and a hat for myself. The above picture shows the hat I knitted for myself. I am looking forward to knitting more stuff like berets for winter and scarves for my family members.

Will let you guys know what I am up to with my knitting experience.

Have a blessed week y'all.

Hello Chicas,

Hope all is well with you. I would like to share with you the process of sealing moisture in my hair.

Stage One: After washing or rinsing my hair, I add a liquid; a leave-in conditioner to the hair which is my Kinky Curly knot Today.

Stage Two: Then I add my natural oil mix; this could be your own oil mix. I will write a post on my oil mix so it will benefit those who have no idea about oil mix. The oil mix can contain Jojoba Oil, Almond Oil, and Castor Oil etc.

Stage Three: The final thing I do is add my cream which is always sheabutter.
So basically, these are the ways to seal in moisture in the hair.

Water is used first because it allows the liquid and the cream to penetrate the hair.

If you ever forget, you can use this acronym below to remember;

I created the hole in the sheabutter myself. lol.

Hope it helped. If you want to know where to buy these products please contact me on the below email.

Hair Inspiration of the Day!

Source - Google Images
Dearest Chicas,

Hope you enjoying your weekend. This picture inspires me more because she has an oval face like mine and her hair type isn't so curly. What I came to realise is that when I became natural, I looked younger and I have seen it with other naturals. I know very soon my hair will grow like this and I will rock my natural hair without any accessories for once. Though accessorizing hair makes it more beautiful be it relaxed or natural.

Have a great weekend y'all

Natural Hair Swag. (CLICK IT)
Pin It Now!

I braided this yesterday.

Hello Chicas,
Hope you are all doing great by God's grace. Well, we have finally come to the end of our series; ‘does black hair grow long’? I am very excited today because my sister gave birth to a baby girl this dawn. I thank the Lord so much for all His blessings.

Today, I will be talking about getting into a routine and having patience for the hair.  Getting into a routine helps with our hair growth because let’s say you deep condition once every month, the proper hair care routine and diet will make the hair grow faster and longer. Be it hair treatment or scalp massages, when done regularly they grow the hair and makes it healthy.

When it comes to being patience with the hair, it’s very important because too much manipulation can damage the hair so take your time with your hair and love it.

Also I have braided my own hair and I am very happy about it.

Hope you enjoyed reading. Have a wonderful time and stay blessed.

I Love you guys

  Hello Chicas,
Hope you all had a wonderful weekend.
Well today’s topic is very interesting because we usually take it for granted. It is sleeping / resting well: We might take this for granted but having enough sleep really grows our hair. This is because during sleep, our body tissues and muscles are repaired and our growth hormones are secreted during sleep. When our sleeping patterns become erratic, we can experience hair loss because of the body having too much or too little sleep and this can result in dull, brittle and dry hair. When we have a good pattern of sleep, our bodies will relax, refuel and re-energize and as a result will promote our hair growth.

Lack of sleep can also weaken our body’s immune system and other problems such as hair loss, hair breakage and unhealthy hair so before changing your shampoo or conditioner, consider changing your sleep

After changing your sleep pattern, the ideal fabric to cover your hair when sleeping is satin because it prevents hair breakage.

Hope this post helped. Please don’t hesitate to ask any questions you have regarding your hair.

An African celebrity rocking her natural hair in braids.
Dearest Chicas,

I am very elated once again to have an audience with you. I have started knitting as well and I am very happy about it. At the moment I am knitting two scarves and two hats for my kids in wait for
Well today I would like to talk about STYLING under our broad topic.

When it comes to styling, some may find it very daunting and others are very good at it. What I have come to realise is that with natural hair, getting different styles like Bantu knots, Twists, Twist Outs, Braids, Braid Outs and many more is a bit easier than when I had relaxed hair. The reason why styling and protective styling for that matter is very important for our hair growth is that with protective styling your hair length can be maintained and this will result in longer hair.

If you have either relaxed or natural hair, you can put your hair in buns, braids, cornrows just to protect the ends for some time. Also manipulating our hair every now and then doesn’t help the hair to maintain its length and I always believe there are times we need to put our combs down and leave our hair to grow Lol. I understand y’all, it’s a girl’s thing to stand in front of the mirror and manipulate our hair here and there. Lol
I have also started a growth challenge and this will last for 6 months, I hope to achieve 6 more inches by the end of January, so I will put in some braids for some weeks. I mentioned 6 inches because normally hair grows half an inch a month so if I want an inch a month then I need to protect my hair from all sorts of damage. That’s a big challenge but we will overcome.

Why don’t you join me in this challenge so we ‘grow’ together and motivate each other?
Hope you have been blessed by this post.

Love you to bits

Hello Chicas,

Hope you are all doing great by the grace of God.

Very sorry for the one week break, I had a long weekend because of my birthday and also preparation towards my online store as it will be launching soon. I miss you guys by the way.

Okay, today’s topic is TRIMMING OR DUSTING: For those who aren’t familiar with the word dusting, it is the same as trimming but often used in the natural hair
Trimming or dusting is very important in our hair care regime but there are couple of myths that make more chicas trim their hair very often and this retards their hair growth.

Well the first myth is the fact that trimming frequently prevents split ends: the fact is splits not only occurs at the tips but also in the lower third of the hair and this is where the hair is liable to damage. So if this myth is right then if you have a very long hair, you always have to cut to the lower third, this shouldn’t be the case. A Split end occurs when the hair is damaged through straightening, dyeing and applying heat to the hair constantly. So the best way to prevent split ends is to protect the hair from heat, brushing through tangled hair and damage in general.

The next myth is that Trimming makes hair grow faster: The growth rate of hair can be due to the diet, gene or hormones of an individual and the reason why some ladies don’t see growth is that their hairdressers cut off their hair at every visit for the sake of trimming and they end up not seeing growth. What happens on the tip of the hair has no connection on what happens at the root, so in effect trimming does not grow hair faster.

In a nutshell, I believe trimming the hair depends on an individual and when the hair is healthy, constant trimming is not necessary. The only person who enjoys frequent trimming is the

 Have a wonderful day.

Hello there Chicas,

Hope this post found you well

I am still on maintaining our hair to achieve a desired length. Well the next tip is Deep Conditioning: This might seem not important but if your hair has gone through so many manoeuvres like blow drying, constant brushing and even the scorching sun then I believe there is a need to feed it every week. I always say that when we realise that our hair has life like our skin does then we will begin to treat it with care. The hair needs healthy food to grow and conditioning or deep conditioning the hair is a very good way of replenishing the hair of everything it has lost.

I deep condition my hair every week after doing my weekly treatments such as hot oil treatment and using herbs and after deep conditioning, my hair feels nourished.

If you are someone who puts in braids and weaves every time then it is best you deep condition before and after because the braids and the weaves leave our hair dry and brittle.

Deep Conditioning reduces the damage caused by brushing and styling of the hair.

Deep Conditioners help bounce the hair back from dryness.

The elasticity of the hair is improved
Deep Conditioning the hair for about 30 minutes a week makes the hair healthy

So deep conditioning the hair helps the hair to grow because the cuticles are closed and therefore there will be no breakage.

There is a post on how I condition my hair so please read if you need help with it.

Really Love you for stopping by to read. Have a blessed day!

Hello Chicas,

Drying the hair is the next point under maintaining our hair length. These hot summer months are ideal for drying our hair without the blow dryer. I believe this is the time to have a break from the damaging heat and allowing the hair to dry naturally.
What I usually do is to allow extra time for my hair to dry because my hair is thick, so I do other stuff since I am a busy mum of two I always have stuff to do. Lol
The next tip is allowing your hair to dry by dripping; this is because when you towel dry natural hair, it can create frizz which can cause the hair to tangle.
Whilst my hair is drying by itself, if I want to step out briefly I accessorize with bands and clips
Hope this post helped you. Enjoy the summer with your healthy long hair.

Hi ladies,

Well we are still on growing long black hair. Achieving long black hair is the desire of every woman but most women do not maintain their length as a result of wearing weaves and braids for long periods.

Wearing weaves can appear very horrible and fake to others, and most men would prefer ladies who carry their own long healthy hair. It would be great having your own hair be it relaxed or natural, long and healthy. Let’s face it your man will be more attracted to someone who will take time to learn more about her hair than someone who will wear a weave to feel beautiful. The addiction that comes with weaves and braids is so great that I don’t understand. No wonder my husband kept saying “why don’t you leave your alone, I love it real”. After going natural, he would ask what I will be doing with my hair because he’s realised I do different styles every week. In fact he sometimes asks me to do a particular style. Isn’t this beautiful!

Have you thought about how long your hair stays in weaves and braids without washing, don’t get me wrong I am not saying occasional weaves are bad but putting in weaves after weave or braids after braid does not allow you to clean your hair in weeks which can prevent a healthy growth of hair.

No matter how you choose to wear your hair; relaxed or natural, I believe you need to leave your hair for sometime in order to do your treatment and care for it as the hair also needs food to grow. Good products such as natural hair products and natural oils grow the hair long and healthy.

The products I use can all be found on this blog, please go to the different treatments such as conditioning, deep conditioning etc to check them out.

Hope this really helped. Love your hair

Love you!!
