My First Natural Baby - The Roller Coasting Begins!!

Hello Beauties,

This is a continuation of my pregnancy diary! I know some have asked me to update it so I will as time goes on but please forgive me as studies and business isn't allowing me to write frequently.

So, throughout my 2 pregnancies I have been so strong and very active from beginning and especially the end part of the pregnancies. This pregnancy is so different that I couldn't sleep well in my first trimester. Everyday when I woke up I felt so nauseous and so sick I couldn't just sit up, I felt so weak and tired such that I had to sit down again when I stood up for a few minutes.

This situation put me in bed the whole of the Christmas season but I thank God hubby took care of the boys and took care of home as well though there were times when he couldn't multi-task as I do. Lol.
Our men need to be appreciated for the little they do because they are different from women; some are not so good with multi tasking.

It had been a long time since I got pregnant so I started researching into how I was feeling and the NHS Choice website gave me good tips on how to bring down the morning sickness:

*The first tip I tried to do is when I woke up, I took cream crackers about 1 or 2 before getting up.

*The second tip they suggested was to lie down for sometime before getting up.

These tips worked very well but the weakness still existed and especially after eating I just felt like throwing up the food.

Pregnancy and My Hair Care Regimen:

My hair care regimen changed drastically due to the fact that I could not bring myself to even spritzing my hair so I could go for three days without moisturising my hair. At first I felt so bad but I realised there was nothing I could do about it and as such the baby was more important so all that was needed was a good rest and the second trimester will come knocking at my door.

The second trimester is here and I am very grateful to God how things have turned around. You know I this is a pregnancy that I really saw the change between the first trimester and the second trimester. It's amazing how the body is able to change as the pregnancy grows.

At the moment, I am able to moisturise my hair frequently and even do the baggy method which I will share very soon. I deep condition weekly because my mini twists challenge ended.

To be Continued...

Hope you enjoyed this little piece.

So... I Gave Curlformers a Try!!

Hello Beauties,

Hope this post finds you well. Well with all the talk on YouTube about how these curlformers work wonders on curls, I finally decided to try them. I must say they rock especially with a good styling cream.

The Process:

To start with I oiled my hair the day before and co-washed it the following day. My hair was deep conditioned with the Sheabeutimia Hemp Moisturising Conditioner.

My hair rinse was an ACV rinse (Apple Cider Vinegar). Click on the link to know the measurements I use.

Since I really wanted to know the results on the Sheabeutimia Crambe Growth Cream with the curlformers, all I used on my hair was the Sheabeutimia Leave In Moisturising Conditioner and the Crambe Cream itself.

I must say my hair turned out really well as in softness and shine. My hair regimen has been very simple as well since getting pregnant because I can't get myself to do so much and my hair loves that.

Cons:

* The hair doesn't dry so quickly unless you prefer to sit under a dryer. This depends on how damp the hair is though.

* If you could, please leave enough time for the hair to dry because sleeping in them can be terrible.

Pros

*They curled my hair so well and using my own brand; Sheabeutimia Crambe Growth Cream made my hair very soft and shiny.

* My hair was so manageable I could run my fingers through so easily.

Poor picture quality.

Did the fringe but changed to a simple pull back style
Products Used:
Conditioned with the Sheabeutimia Hemp Moisturising Conditioner.

Applied the Sheabeutimia Leave In Moisturising Conditioner

On a whole, I will give the Sheabeutimia Crambe Growth Cream and curlformers a big thumbs up!

Used the Sheabeutimia Crambe Growth Cream with the curlformers

Hope you enjoyed this post.

So... You Want To Go Natural? - A Guest Post by Kreamykurls

 Hello Beauties,

Hope this post finds you well. So I got a blogger friend of mine to guest post on transitioning. She has transitioned for quite a while and I thought it would be wonderful if she shared her experience with us.

"The natural hair community has made a tremendous impact on women across the world. Knowledge is definitely power and with the vast pool of resources such as YouTube  forums and blogs we all can have healthy hair. I started my hair journey November 2011 and that was my first attempt at "transitioning"; however, I jumped head first into doing so without doing any thorough research. After relaxing from my failed attempt I flooded myself with YouTube videos, the Curlynikki forum, and other hair care blogs. Are you playing with the thought of transitioning? Well here are a few pros and cons I've discovered while transitioning to natural hair.

Pros
1, You can slowly adjust to your natural texture
I'm unaware of other cultures but here in the Caribbean; some individuals have a stigma where a certain curl pattern is seen as good or pretty. Examples of these are loose wavy or spirally curls. Transitioning will grant the process of embracing one's hair. I can surely attest to this as I thought my texture wasn't "good".

2. Transitioning allows the mental acceptance of the natural appearance
On both attempts of transitioning I had difficulty accepting the the new natural look. It took a good couple of months for the adjustment but with the help of videos from Youtube I slowly moved into acceptance. It was especially difficult as I was so conditioned to the straight wind in hair look.

3. Instead of a big chop, you can grow your hair to a length that you are comfortable with. I consider myself to have a big head and in addition to that I have alopecia monocularis, so I thought it momentous to have enough natural hair to cover my bald spot.

4 Transitioning provides the opportunity to find styles that suit you. Thus after the transition chop there is little fuss in finding a style that works.

5. The awkward growth phase after the big chop is avoided. Often many individuals who do the big chop speak about the in between length ( moving from TWA onward). While transitioners may feel like the new growth is taking forever to grow in, those relaxed ends may serve as a little refuge for the time.

6. You control how long your transitioning process will be.

7. Transitioning gave me the opportunity to experience long hair. At the beginning of my second transitioning attempt I wanted to achieve bra strap length (bsl) before I chopped the relaxed ends off. Reason for doing this is I wanted to convince myself that if I got there with transitioning hair it would also be possible when I'm fully natural.

Cons
1. Difficulty in de-tangling

2 Breakage at the line of demarcation

3 Stringy fragile ends

4 Maintaining both textures may become a little frustrating

5 Requires patience especially if one strives for minimal breakage while de-tangling or styling".

Hope this helped!
